Foods, drinks and products to avoid
The "DO NOT" list
I noticed that if you want to diet according to two food philosophies at the same time, you will probably starv. Instead, considering several theories and approaches, the list of banned products is pretty much the same! To apply this list or parts of it could change or save your life.
Here is the list of 'DO NOT' as I see it:
HARMFUL PRODUCTS
– concise and updatable; non-limiting –
- Carbonated drinks (including 'mineral' water / soda)
- Alcohol
- Tobacco
- Coffee
- Cold food
- Cold drinks
- Anything heated in a microwave oven or prepared in aluminum or 'Teflon' or similar dishes
- Cacao
- Cow milk, other than that for which the source is known and pure natural; pasteurized milk
- Fermented dairy products
- Sugar – white sugar, brown sugar, organic sugar, evaporated cane juice, corn syrup, commercial jams. Exceptions are: completely unheated honey, untreated organic maple syrup, 'rapadură' [ro], stevia.
- Flour pasta, white bread
- White flour, wheat flour, organic flour, any dry wheat products. For example: bread, biscuits, cakes, doughnuts, breakfast cereals, muffins, pastries and confectionery, tortillas, bagels and sandwiches. Most store-bought flour products, even from naturist health food stores, should be avoided. Whole grains are recommended.
- Carbohydrates : decrease energy, cause drowsiness and break down into 'sugars'
- Synthetic juices – those containing aspartame and anything containing artificial flavors or artificial colors or artificial ingredients
- Refined salt, iodized salt - replace them with non-iodized sea salt, possibly a little fried. Sea salt may contain natural iodine.
- Excessive hot spices
- Meat
- Canned food of any kind ( exception: sardines in oil)
- Animal fats
- Hydrogenated fats: low-quality margarine and vegetable oils, soybean oil and safflower oil. Replace them – when cooking: rapeseed oil (the most yang), then sesame oil; for frying: sunflower oil. Other: organic coconut oil, organic olive oil, butter. Cold pressed oil is recommended.
- CAREFUL! There are authoritative voices calling attention to the negative effects of consuming ANY kind of oil. Oil can be replaced with all seeds and nuts.
- Fried, smoked
- Reheated food
- Pre-packaged food; chips etc.
- 'Fast food’ / ‘junk food’
- Overcooked food
- All foods consumed in excess
- Old or genetically modified foods
- Medicines, including most drugs, whether or not recreational, and vaccines
- you can know more by taking an interest in: macrobiotics, food energetics (yin/yang foods), alkaline/acidic foods/drinks
- avoid ANY kind of excesses
- prefer foods that are as little processed as possible, that is, those that are as fresh as possible and from areas as close as possible to the area where you live ('where you drink water from') - as far as possible below 5-600 km)
- prefer fruits and vegetables picked from the tree or stalk to those that have fallen to the ground. Once they touch the ground, their energy drops dramatically. For vegetables that grow on or in the ground - wash them so they don't have any soil remains on them
- eat the fruits two hours before or 2 hours after the meal
- avoid eating less than 2 hours before bed / one hour before lying down
- Do not cook in aluminum or Teflon dishes; use stainless steel, glass, enameled, earthen dishes - not covered with terracotta or other materials that can release toxic substances (lead, etc.) or physically could decompose in small pieces.
- cutlery: wood, where possible
- keep in mind the basic rules of hygiene: look at the food, smell the food; taste the food! Wash the hands, dishes, cutlery, mugs and glasses, clean the table.
- chew for a long time - you will appreciate the food differently, you will lighten the load on the stomach and, in this way, you will alkalize the food before it goes to the stomach. It's said that one should drink the food and chew the water!
- think nice! Be thankful for the food in front of you and all that made possible for it to be there. Take the time to 'friend' it!
* But don't forget: first you have to survive! Don't 'worship the hat!'
